Solar Activity

After squirting a few small flares last week, the Sun got back to being boring. There was a single A2 event. Otherwise, the GOES LO channel was flat the whole week.

Memory Management

Down to 0% at end of daily pass set, 22% at maximum. No front data taken during S/C night. NMZ nit decimated, SMZ decimated.

Amir suggested to take front data at night, to complement the coverage of background data for Jim's background software.

Data Gaps

Lots of VC1 data gaps this week, courtesy of Wallops. No VC3 gaps, though.

Special Operations

As per D. Smith's request, G1 was lowered by 4 steps. The commanding was done ar 203-17:24:23 UT. The voltage now stands at 3210.8 V. The detector remained segmented through the pass.

Moreover, D. Smith mentionned we could turn off detector 2 if it doesn't register any useful counts during flares (it generates a lot of noise). Probably TBD with the next flare with emission above 20 keV...

Annealing issues

D. Smith would like to schedule a discussion on this topic. Tentatively, Wed, Aug 12th.
