Solar Activity
Solar activity has been relatively low for most of the week. In the last couple of days, new active regions have rotated onto the disk, and active region 12106 has produced an M1.4 flare (after the time range of the following output).
How many GOES flares occurred?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 12 35 0 0
And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 5 1 0 0
And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 2 0 0 0
There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 20 / 47 over the time range 24-Jun-14 01-Jul-14
Spacecraft Operations
The fourth anneal has begun!
2014-Jun-25 23:32 UT: The overcurrent protection were inadvertently enabled on the cryocooler, which tripped immediately due to noise (which is why the protections were disabled)
2014-Jun-26 01:03 UT: The cryocooler was turned back on at a power of 20 W
2014-Jun-26 02:40 UT: The detectors were turned off
2014-Jun-26 04:20 UT: The cold-plate heater was turned on
2014-Jun-28 06:40 UT: The cryocooler entered an anomalous state where the cold-tip temperatures began to rise rapidly, and was associated with reduced cryocooler current draw and acceleration. Stuart Banks explained that this behavior is consistent with binding between the piston and the displacer, which is more likely to occur at low cryocooler power.
2014-Jun-28 14:20 UT: The cryocooler anomaly ended, apparently because the binding situation resolved itself.
2014-Jun-29 22:00 UT: Reached anneal temperature
