Solar Activity
Currently there are two active regions on the Sun. Activity was low this week and is expected to continue this way with a chance of some isolated C class flares.
How many GOES flares occurred? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 5 2 0 0 And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 2 2 0 0 And how many had EXCELLENT coverage? Flares above B, C, M, X class were 2 1 0 0
Memory Management
This week we began taking rear events for the entirety of eclipse periods. This resulted in the SSR not emptying out during passes. This was adjusted to take both front and rear events for 10 mins after entering eclipse and 10 mins before exiting eclipse. In this mode, the SSR is emptying out during each pass.

Operations
Spacecraft is in good health. Still in normal vigorous decimation and decimating both north and south magnetic zones. This week, we began taking rear events for the duration of eclipses. This increased the fill level in the SSR and the SSR was not emptying out during passes. The acquisition mode was changed to take rear and front data for 10 mins after entering eclipse and again for 10 mins before leaving eclipse, with no events in between. The SSR is responding well and is emptying out after each pass.
Other notes
The AGU abstract deadline is Sept 2.
