Solar Activity
Solar activity was high this week! We had the largest flare of the current solar cycle on the 9th August - an X7 which RHESSI observed. This came from NOAA 11263 which has today, rotated off the disk. STEREO B does not show any significant regions approaching the limb and those already on disk are not particularly complicated. There were multiple M class flares, though RHESSI missed the impulsive phase of most of these.
How many GOES flares occurred?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 20 44 4 1
And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 13 24 3 1
And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 9 10 0 1
There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 340 / 69 over the time range 03-Aug-11 10-Aug-11
Memory Management
The SSR is emptying at the end of the daily passes, max 25%.
Data Gaps
There were no data gaps this week.
Spacecraft Status
We remain in normal/vigorous decimation mode. Detector 8 had yet another burst of unusual behaviour on 8-Aug-2011 at ~18:55UT. This was observed in both the fronts and rears just before an eclipse.
