Solar Activity
Solar activity this week was moderate. GOES baseline level at ~B6. 35 C-flares observed by RHESSI, and one well-observed X-flare at disk center. Few counts above 300 keV, though.
How many GOES flares occurred?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 2 55 5 1
And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 2 43 4 1
And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 2 27 1 1
There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 286 / 63 over the time range 27-Mar-14 03-Apr-14
Memory Management
The SSR reached a max of ~38%, minimum of ~17%. NOAA predicts 5% chance of an X-flare in the next 48 hrs. The plan is to stop taking rear detector events at night.
Spacecraft Status
Cold plate temperatures are 117.0K and 115.5K. Cryocooler is operating normally (12 mg, 17 W). Spin rate 14.9 rpm.
Data Gaps
No data gaps of note.
Detector issues
Threshold changes last Thursday: D6f slow: x1A --> x20 D8r fast: x90 --> xA0 D9r fast: x90 --> xB0
And on Saturday: D6f slow: x20 --> x30 D9r fast: xB0 --> x70 (this last because the previous threshold change did not lead to improvements)
D6f livetime now hovers around 85%. D9f livetime creeping down slowly (at ~0.5%/day, currently at 85%). G9r livetime at 95% and holding steady for now.
Other notes
Attenuators came back to "0" position after flares, so no problems there this week.
