This purpose of this nugget is to report on the second successful launch of the FOXSI sounding rocket payload. FOXSI was flown [FOXSI Sucess|once before] on November 2, 2012. This first flight produced the focused images of a microflare in hard x-rays.

Background

FOXSI is a sounding rocket payload whose goal is to develop and apply hard x-ray focusing optics combined with solid-state detectors.


The Future?

Based on these successes, we are now considering how we would scale up the FOXSI sounding rocket to a satellite mission. Such a mission would allow us.
