Solar Activity

There was very little solar activity this week. There are two active regions (11101 and 11102); both will rotate off the disk in the next couple days. Farside and STEREO B agree that nothing exciting is on the horizon. No flares were higher than B class this week.

And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?

And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?

Memory Management

The SSR is not emptying (max 38%, min 16%), probably due to reduced passes. Several Weilheim passes are being added, which should alleviate this problem. Since there is low probability of large flares, we decided not to take more drastic measures by changing data acquisition settings.

Data Gaps

There was a small data gap on August 27 at 22:25:00 for 5 minutes. Also, there has been no data since 1700 UT yesterday (Aug 31). This data is in the pipeline and will be processed soon.

Operations

No HV changes this week. We are still in normal/vigorous decimation and still taking data for 10 minutes on each side of the eclipse.

Other notes

The AGU abstract deadline is tomorrow (Sept 2)!!!

It was noticed that Browser quicklook images are not functioning for any flares since the anneal.
