Solar Activity

The sun continued to be quiet this week, producing only a few B class flares. There are three active regions present, two on the limb, which are set to rotate off the disk within a few days.

How many GOES flares occurred?

Flares above B, C, M, X class were      6     0     0     0

And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?

Flares above B, C, M, X class were      3     0     0     0

And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?

Flares above B, C, M, X class were      2     0     0     0

There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 57 / 6 over the time range 29-Jun-11 05-Jul-11

Memory Management

The SSR is emptying at the end of each pass, although we see increased memory fill from reduced passes and data taken during eclipse. Both front and rear data were taken during eclipse this week. Passes are reduced from 10 to ~8.5 per day due to shuttle operations and THEMIS. This is expected to continue for the next two weeks. SSR fill level should continue to be monitored closely during this time.

We remain in normal/active decimation mode.

Data Gaps

Data gaps are present for July 5th.

Spacecraft Status

The spacecraft parameters are nominal. Detector 6 continues to arc despite last week's voltage drop of 4 steps. Detector 6 arcs from July 3 can be seen at the following url: http://sprg.ssl.berkeley.edu/~tohban/browser/?show=grth+qlpcr+monfs+monfl+monff&date=20110703&time=160123

The voltage on detector 6 will be dropped an additional two steps this week. Detector 6 now has a total 6 step drop, the voltage changed from 2990.2 to 2867.7 V.
