Solar Activity
Solar activity was relatively low this week with only 2 low M class flares. There are currently 10 active regions on the disk, a few of which will rotate over the limb within the next 24 hours, including AR 11818 which has produced the M and C class flares over the last few days. STEREO B shows several small active regions on the farside of the Sun.
How many GOES flares occurred?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 12 22 2 0
And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 2 8 0 0
And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?
Flares above B, C, M, X class were 1 2 0 0
There were RHESSI flares/GOES flares 91 / 36 over the time range 14-Aug-13 21-Aug-13
Memory Management
The SSR is emptying by the end of the daily pass set.
Spacecraft Status
Cold plate 1 and 2 are currently at 115.1 K and 113.5 K.
On DOY 227 16:09 the spacecraft spin rate changed to idle. The problem was rectified quickly before the Sun had drifted out of the spacecraft FOV.
Data Gaps
A number of large data gaps are visible in the browser plots starting on the 15-aug-2013 due to a break in the processing of VC1 and VC3 data packets from Wallops. Once the process is fixed the data gaps should be filled in.
