Solar Activity

Solar activity was very low this week. There are currently 2 ARs on the disk with the probability of some C class flares in the following days.

How many GOES flares occurred?

 Flares above B, C, M, X class were      5     2     0     0

And how many of these are listed in the RHESSI flare list?

And how many had EXCELLENT coverage?

The SSR fill level reached a maximum of ~43 and a minimum of about ~15 during the week.

Spacecraft Status

The cold plate 1 and 2 are at about 133.8 K and 132.3 K respectively.

Detector issues

In 15 July 2015 detector 4 front slow threshold was change from 0x70 to 0xA0 to see if the count flux change. The counts rate during the pass did not change appreciably. Because of that the threshold was changed to the original 0x70 (see [1]).

On the same day the rear fast thresholds of detectors 3 and 6 were increased due to low live times. G6's threshold was increased from 0x80 to 0x90 which increased the live time from ~24% to ~89% and G3's threshold was increased from 0x60 to 0x70 which increased the live time from ~17% to ~82%.

On 17 July 17 2015 at 17:46 UTC, events from both front and rear segments will be turned off during eclipse (except for the 4 minutes before eclipse exit and 4 minutes after eclipse entry).

The rear fast threshold of detectors 1,6 and 7 was change on 22 July 2015 to improve their live times.
